A new home for for the Association
We have been fortunate to acquire a building from the Government of Barbados.
We have been given a 20 year lease of our headquarters building starting in August 2024 and we need to get our planning together to get our fundraising organised and to be able to focus on the best policies going forward.
We need to clearly delineate our programs from our capital works and the amount of budget to be set aside for the day-to-day running of the facility. Our aim is to become the most proactive initiative taking non-governmental organization charity in Barbados looking after a specific community.
Upcoming events
The demolition party taking place during August 2024 at the new building will involve our own labor to do the rough stuff of taking out walls and doors and windows that we no longer need that can be replaced by good quality craftsmanship.
After the tradesmen have finished putting back what we’ve taken out we’ll move in ourselves and have a paint and decoration party on a Saturday and a Sunday for a number of weeks: we’ll provide our own labor and we’ll be begging for contributions from those business houses who produce paint and finishes.
Finally, we will organize a massive cleanout of the building to give us a first class product which we can be proud of: the saying many hands make light work is the motto and we’ll have “work in” Saturdays and Sundays complete with refreshments as well.
